PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS BY EMAIL

Fife.Lesliemp@nhs.scot

We have added an additional pathway for patients to make prescription requests by email.

All requests must include full name, date of birth and details of all medications being requested.

Requests must only be made 7 – 10 days before they are due and will be processed within the normal 48 hour timeframe

Clinical Staff Shortages

We are continuing to actively recruit following the retirement of one of our GP's but unfortunately there is a national shortage of GP’s and a replacement is proving difficult to find. This reduction will result in the loss of around 60 patient appointments each week.

The workload regarding clinic letters, results and prescription demand will remain unchanged and therefore each GP will be taking on a greater share of this also. Please bear this in mind with regards to turnaround time for prescriptions, referrals and blood test results.

We do currently have an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and a Treatment and Care Nurse within the Team but are also currently recruiting for a Practice Nurse.

Thank you for your patience during this time.

Practice Procedures

During the continuing Coronavirus period, we regularly review Practice procedures in conjunction with NHS Fife Directives and Scottish Government Guidelines.

We would like to reassure our patients that even though we continue to work through challenging times and ever changing period and things are very different, we are still here to provide help and support with non-Covid related symptoms. This will be done in the first instance via a GP telephone consultation.  Please do not ignore any warning signs of serious conditions.

Appointments - When calling the Practice, please listen carefully to the recorded information. We are currently operating our appointments on a same day basis, Triage is available 08:00 -11:00 Monday to Friday.

Face Coverings / Social Distancing – in Non-Clinical areas - NHS Fife have updated guidelines and whilst staff and visitors will no longer be required to wear face coverings in non-clinical areas and the 2 metre physical distancing has also been removed, we would ask that all persons attending the Practice please be respectful of those individuals who may wish to continue to wear face coverings and consider giving them a bit more space or care.   This will reduce the risk to our most vulnerable patients who regularly attend.    Staff providing direct care will continue to wear a face covering.

Repeat Prescription Requests - we have moved the box into the foyer inside the main doors. We will continue to send all prescriptions to your chosen local pharmacy. If you would normally collect your prescription, please can you advise Reception staff on your next visit which Pharmacy we can send your prescriptions to.   Thanks.

New Patient Registration Forms and other administrative forms can be found in the holders on the wall above the prescription request desk inside the foyer.

If you're coming into hospital bring all your medicines with you - staff will have a complete record of all you're taking and the hospital pharmacy won't need to dispense more of the same medicines if they're not needed
